AXAEM at ARCHIVE*RECORDS/DC 2010

AXAEM was introduced by APPX Software, Inc. at the ARCHIVES*RECORDS/DC 2010 annual meeting in Washington DC on August 12-13, 2010. The Conference was jointly sponsored by the three leading archivist associations.  It was an excellent opportunity to learn about the latest trends, review products and services, and network.  The three associations are described below:

CoSA

The Council of State Archivists is the national association of the directors of the principal archival agencies in every state, the District of Columbia, and the territories. It fosters cooperation among the states, communicates archives and records concerns at the national level, and works with other national organizations to ensure that the nation’s documentary heritage is preserved and accessible.

NAGARA

The National Association of Government Archives and Records Administrators, formed in 1984, is dedicated to the improvement of federal, state, and local government records and information management.  The only professional association dedicated solely to helping government archivists and records managers, NAGARA promotes the availability of our documentary legacy through the effective use and management of government records in all formats.

SAA

Founded in 1936 and representing more than 5,500 individual and institutional members, the Society of American Archivists is North America’s oldest and largest national archival professional association. Its mission is to inform, educate, and advocate for archives and archivists in order to ensure the identification, preservation, and use of records of enduring value.
